Message from the Head of Department 

Dear students and valued academic stakeholders, 

As the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ankara Medipol University Faculty of Pharmacy, our primary goal is to educate pharmacists who are strong, well-equipped, research-oriented and committed to ethical values in the fundamental fields that form the scientific foundation of the pharmacy profession. 

Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences form the cornerstone of pharmacy education, encompassing a broad scientific field that extends from the discovery and development of drugs to understanding their effects and ensuring their safe use. In our department, we aim not only to provide our students with theoretical knowledge but also to help them develop analytical thinking, scientific inquiry, problem-solving skills and a culture of research. 

With our highly qualified academic staff, we offer an educational environment that follows current scientific developments, values interdisciplinary work and embraces a universal understanding of science. Gaining a solid foundation in the basic sciences is of great importance for our students to progress more successfully and consciously in their professional courses. 

In addition to its educational activities, our department regards scientific research as a priority responsibility. We aim to conduct high-quality research that contributes to the field of health sciences, to develop academic collaborations at national and international levels, and to ensure that the knowledge produced is used for the benefit of society.
