Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Interior architecture and environmental design is a design-based profession that draws on scientific and technical data to create the most suitable and comfortable environment, meeting users' functional needs as well as their expectations for an aesthetic identity.
It involves planning every indoor and outdoor environment within the integrity of an architectural structure by examining its functionality together with its volume and furnishing values, in line with human factors, physiological, ergonomic, psychological and universal values, and socio-economic and environmental criteria. It also involves organizing scientific, artistic and technical theories. This organization is achieved through the integration of theories of structure, volume, function, the individual and society, as well as form, color, material, technique, time and economy, together with scientific, artistic and environmental systems, into knowledge, skills and design ability.
Students in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will be trained to become professionals who think analytically and develop user-centered solutions to interior design problems. Alongside interdisciplinary work with other departments across the university, the department aims to foster interaction with expert stakeholders who are recognized nationally and internationally and who lead innovation in the profession. Within the framework of these goals, we aim to educate interior architects who are creative and innovative in their profession, who can produce original solutions demanded by our age by making use of computer-aided design and environmental technologies, and who combine form and function with aesthetics.
