Political Science and International Relations (English)
Message from the Head of Department
Dear Students,
The world is changing rapidly. Borders, problems and solutions are no longer merely local but global. We welcome prospective students who wish to have a voice in this global transformation to the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Ankara Medipol University.
The main goal of our department is to educate individuals who understand politics and the international system, who can analyze these structures from a critical perspective, and who can contribute to them. Our curriculum is structured with strong content designed to support our students' career journeys. Throughout this process, we explore together with our students which field they wish to pursue, whether diplomacy, public administration, think tanks, international NGOs or the private sector. The location of our campus in the heart of Ankara, our capital, makes it easier for our students to access institutions that are influential in decision-making processes, such as embassies, ministries, think tanks and representative offices of international organizations, creating opportunities to bring theoretical knowledge together with practice.
Through the second foreign language instruction we offer in addition to English, we aim to take our students' international communication skills to a more advanced level. Moreover, since our curriculum is taught in English, international students from different countries are able to join our department, creating a multicultural learning environment that further strengthens our students' global perspectives.
Furthermore, through courses such as Research Methods, Project Management and the Graduation Thesis, we aim to bring our students' research skills to the fore. In particular, in the graduation thesis project, students choose thesis topics aligned with the fields they wish to work in later, which prepares them for life after graduation. If you, too, wish to better understand the world and, within this framework, contribute to Türkiye, to its central role in international relations and to its future, we invite you to our open days to learn more!
Kind regards,
Assist. Prof. Seher Bulut
Head of Department
