Experimental Animals Application and Research Center Laboratory (DEHAY-LAB)

Experimental Animals Application and Research Center Laboratory (DEHAY-LAB)

Established to support scientific research, experimental studies, healthcare applications and education and training activities involving experimental animals, our laboratory began operating under the work permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on 07.12.2022.

Project leaders/researchers who have obtained approval from the Ankara Medipol University Local Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments must apply to the DEHAY-LAB management with the ethics committee application documents, the approval certificate, a signed request form, a workflow schedule and a project summary. Once the pro forma invoice prepared for their study has been accepted, they must complete their experiment in accordance with the laboratory rules.

  • For the Experimental Study Workflow Chart for Researchers, click here.
  • For projects approved by HADYEK, the researcher applies to the Responsible Veterinarian with the HADYEK approval letter and a fully completed Experimental Animal Request Form.
  • Following the evaluation of the experimental animal request, the fee to be deposited into the bank account is communicated to the project leader as a pro forma invoice for approval.
  • Once the fee has been paid, animal production is planned.
  • If the laboratory does not have experimental animals of sufficient number or of the species suitable for the project, the researcher may obtain experimental animals from licensed breeding institutions with the knowledge and approval of the Unit Manager. Experimental animals obtained from other centers may be used only after being held in quarantine for an appropriate period and undergoing the necessary checks.
  • If animals bred and raised according to the study schedule specified in the experimental animal request form, work schedule and project summary are not taken into the experiment within one month, the animals will be allocated to other projects.
  • Laboratories in which work is to be carried out must be reserved by contacting DEHAY-LAB by phone or e-mail at least one week in advance.
