Message from the Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry
Dear students,
As the Department of Analytical Chemistry, we carry out our education and research activities in one of the fundamental fields that strengthen the scientific and practical dimensions of pharmacy education. Built on the principle of obtaining accurate, reliable and reproducible results, analytical chemistry holds an indispensable place in ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines.
The core approach of our department is not only to teach our students analytical methods, but also to equip them with the ability to evaluate data from a scientific perspective, interpret results and rely on trustworthy information in professional decision-making. To this end, we support our theoretical courses with laboratory practice, aiming to develop both our students' scientific thinking skills and their practical competencies.
The identification of active pharmaceutical ingredients, quantitative determination, purity testing, method development, validation studies and quality control processes are among the main applications of analytical chemistry in pharmacy. The knowledge and experience gained in these areas will help our students approach the challenges they encounter in their future professional lives in a scientific, ethical and solution-oriented manner.
Our department embraces a student-centred academic approach that follows current scientific developments, is open to research and values interdisciplinary collaboration. Alongside our teaching activities, we also place great importance on conducting high-quality scientific research that contributes to the health sciences and pharmaceutical analysis.
